virus | A virus is a destructive source code (malware) that can infect other programs by attaching themselves to executable data or by attacking the boot sector of a harddisk. Viruses are spread most often via the internet, and can disable the computer device or even the entire network. Security programs can prevent or free the system from virus infections. |
visits | Visits - also unique visits - count the views of a single internet page and are stored in log files. To prevent manipulation caused by the multiple loading and viewing of a web-page, each visitor is counted only once within a given time frame. |
